Chaplain (MAJ) Jerry Johnson has represented Seventh Day Baptists in the
U.S. Army since the summer of 2004, after pastoring congregations in
Middletown, CT and New Auburn, WI.  He did more than three years in Eastern
Afghanistan on separate deployments with the 10th Mountain Division out of
Fort Drum, NY (2006-07, 2010-11, and 2013-14).  Currently Jerry is serving
as Senior Clinician at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital after completing a
one-year residency in Clinical Pastoral Education there from June 2014 –
June 2015.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Lake Superior
State University, a Master of Divinity (summa cum laude) from Mid-America
Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Ministry
Leadership from Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions.  Jerry
and his wife Carrie have been married for 26 years and have four sons;
Bradley is a graduate student and teaching assistant in Mathematics at the
University of Oklahoma; Jeremy is a senior/Army ROTC cadet at SUNY Potsdam
in NY; Thomas is a sophomore musical theater major at Manhattanville College
outside NYC; and James is a senior at Mount Vernon High School in Virginia.
