Jesus said that it was easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. He told His disciples that he was giving them a new commandment. That they should love each other as He loved them. This prompted them to ask how anyone was going to get into heaven. The point of the Letter to the church at Laodicea was that they had become to content in their relationship with God. They were no longer persevering, faithful, or true to God’s word. Now they were more concerned with their wealth and status than in being true to God. Does that sound familiar?
