Words! We love words! We have word puzzles and word games. We have words to build up, and words to tear down. Encouraging words and critical words — words full of love, and words full of hate. Words of war, and words of peace. We have new words and old words, shorthand words, and impossibly long words — pleasant words and blunt words. And we must carefully choose our words, and the time to use them — because words matter. As we read in the Book of Proverbs, “A word spoken in due season, how good it is… like apples of gold in a silver setting is a word that is aptly spoken” (Proverbs 15:23,25:11).
