The Rev. Dr. Kenneth D. Chroniger is President of the Seventh Day Baptist General Conference USA and Canada. He is a native of Prince George County, MD. His parents, Pratt and Rose Chroniger,still live in Lanham. President Chroniger graduated from Gabriel DuVal High School in 1967.
Pastor Ken has served as the pastor of churches in Kansas City Missouri; Farina, Illinois; Mitchellville, Md.; and Alfred Station NY. Pastor Ken was the founding pastor of the Central Seventh Day Baptist Church in Mitchellville.
Rev. Chroniger has served his Conference in many roles. He was an observer to the Equal Rights Commission, Member and Observer at the Baptist Joint Committee on Religious Liberty and a member of the Baptist Heritage and Identity Commission of the Baptist World Alliance. Inside the Conference he served for 19 years as a Director of Seventh Day Baptist Board of Christian Education and as a member of The Seventh Day Baptist Council of Ministry.
Pastor Chroniger began post high school education earning a General Theology degree from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Mo. He received his BS from Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, Mo. The Master of Divinity was granted by the Nazarene Theological Seminary , Kansas City Mo. A Doctor of Ministry was awarded by Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia in 2009. His Doctoral thesis concerned “The Covenant Document, A Tool for the Centering of Community inspired by the Trinity in the Seventh Day Baptist Congregation”.
Pastor Ken is married to Peggy Sue (Sutton) Chroniger. He has six children Heather Rao, Angela Buckmaster, Rachel Trudell, Mathew Chroniger, Elianna Chroniger and Madge Chroniger.
